Steve Kurtright
Hello! Steve here. I've been on staff since Aug 1, 2004 as an associate pastor at Grace Place. Prior to coming here I served as a pastor and teacher and in church administration for thirty years with a denomination from which I resigned for theological reasons. With a B.A. in Religion and a Master of Arts in Theology behind me, I went back to school for a M.A. in Elementary Education. During that time I taught fourth grade at a charter school for three years.
I currently serve as the Berthoud Campus Pastor. I am also the Senior Director overseeing Children's, Student's and Adult Ministries and unofficially as the pastor to the pastors here at Grace Place.
My wife, Deborah and I have two boys, Jarrod and Brandon. Jarrod lives in Dallas, Texas with his family and Brandon lives in Shawnee, Oklahoma. We have four grandchildren, Zachary Stone, Sydda Hale, Warren Stone, and Ava Brooklynn. Deborah and I love living in Loveland. As kids we both used to visit here on vacation. Now we feel like it is living on vacation full time.
My holy discontent is biblical ignorance. It has been my experience that most of that ignorance isn't intentional, but the result of preconceptions and misinformation. I am committed to making Scripture understandable and relevant in my teaching, speaking and writing. I invite you to explore the learning opportunities available through Grace Place.
